Seeing Keane instantly dropped for Mina hopefully means his card has been marked with Holgate.

Likewise Gomes and Doucoure in the centre of the pitch.

If we could get to safety before the last couple of games it would tell us more about who Lampard wants to move forward with.

Keane is going to be very difficult to sell. There's so little about him that would interest another club UNLESS he is prepared to accept a significant drop in wages.

As for Doucoure, this is the first patch of poor form we've seen from him since he arrived. In any normal scenario we might look at shifting him BUT given that we're already shedding Delph, Sigurdsson, Gomes (fingers crossed) and possibly Allan in the summer I can see the argument for keeping Doucoure as a bench option (alongside Davies) for a year as we bed in two new midfielders alongside Iwobi.

The good thing is that by benching these players it gives them an opportunity to speak with their agents and see about getting a move.

If could be that we cant sell Mina due to his injury record but we can sell Keane as he prefers to play games...who knows?

Im hoping Thelwell can bring in the Romanian kid Octavian Popescu and have a clear focus on signing players of that profile this summer.

Moving out a player like Gray and bringing Popescu in seems very positive if it happens. Hopefully the same focus on central midfield and centre back positions

Wouldn't want slabhead for £8m never mind £80m. By far one of the worst center backs I've ever seen play in the Prem. Utter liability in every game he plays. Him and Keane at the back would be a disaster.

I wonder who the last player to accept a paycut was? Can't be that many of them about. They're employees doing a job, they'll go (or stay) wherever the money is best for them almost every time.

The club should have a plan based on either scenario rather than leave it all to the last minute. Thats what a well run club would do but its us so you never know.
