We needed the forward before the start of the season for a start, and the lad is nowhere near good enough for us to put our eggs in that basket.

Agreed. Also, I cannot see Chelsea loaning him out at all TBH. If they do happen to bring in Auba they’ll still need cover. Broja provides that and can play anywhere across the front line in a pinch if needed.

That might not be far off the truth mate. Sounds like we have our hearts set on a loan with option and are seeing if anyone bites. The actual identity of the player might be secondary.
