Good morning all, game day, heat wave, transfer news, the holy trinity of Saturdays. Hopefully the boys can get a win to make the weekend. Enjoy!

Everton may be offered a chance to sign Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins in the coming weeks, according to journalist Dean Jones. The Toffees are in the market to sign a striker to replace Richarlison who has left the club and joined Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the summer.

It was reported by Football Insider on August 10 that the 26-year-old might leave the club after a reported bust-up with manager Steven Gerrard.

Everton are one of the clubs interested in making a move for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to Foot Mercato. The Toffees are in the market to sign more players despite adding as many as five first-team members in the summer. (Romano saying deal done with Napoli)

Everton are moving away from making a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Idrissa Gueye, according to journalist Lee Davey.

The Toffees have been in the market to sign players to strengthen the squad for the 2022-23 campaign and were linked with the 32-year-old

Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United and Frank Lampard’s Everton will have to pay £15 million for Southampton striker Che Adams in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic have reported that Southampton are willing to listen to offers for the Scotland international striker.

Marca claims West Ham want to sign ex £200k pw Everton star James Rodriguez and bring him back to the Premier League. Marca have reported that West Ham are competing with Turkish giants Galatasaray and a couple of teams in Greece.

Everton have reportedly entered talks with Marseille forward Bamba Dieng, who is also attracting interest from other Premier League sides. The talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook reported that Dieng’s agent has been desperately trying to drum up interest in his client, and it appears to have worked

It has now been reported by Fraser Fletcher that two new strikers could arrive at Goodison Park “Understand Everton are currently in talks with Multiple striking options at the moment,” he wrote.

“Club hopeful of potentially bringing in two. An approach has been made for Che Adams.”

Benfica could demand as much as £30 million for Newcastle United-linked striker Goncalo Ramos. The 21-year-old has attracted interest from a number of Premier League sides this summer, with the likes of Crystal Palace, Everton, Leeds United, West Ham, and Wolves all monitoring his situation alongside the Magpies. Looking at some of the names being talked about the last couple days I decided to to a bit of reading to improve my knowledge.

Bamba Dieng's injury history is reassuring. Only missed two games last season. He is not yet a prolific goalscorer though. If the fee was relatively modest, or we got him on loan with an option then I'd be quite optimistic. Marseille have bought two CFs and a winger this summer though for combined fees of £24m... one of the strikers is Arkadiusz Milik and they also bought Alexis Sanchez in on a free. Dieng is getting linked to PL clubs because he is surplus to requirements at Marseille.

Looking at Serhou Guirassy (Rennes) and Moussa Dembele (Lyon), they're pretty similar players. Same age (26), same height (6'1"), similar injury histories. Dembele looks the more accomplished goalscorer though, and has existing prem experience. I'd lean towards Dembele, and Lyon have just acquired Lacazette on a free so there may be truth to the rumour that Dembele is available.

Couple things that jumped out whilst looking at the French league:

In addition to buying lots of forwards, Marseille have bought in two new CBs this summer. If they really are in a tight financial spot, someone may well try to get Caleta-Car from them. More than 20 caps for Croatia, 6'3", contract expires in summer 2023. If there was a buyer out there for Keane or Mina right now, I'd grab this dude as the replacement.

Jason Denayer left Lyon last month and is currently available on a free. Wouldn't be surprised to see him appear at somewhere like Palace, Newcastle or Forest. 27 years old, Man City academy graduate, prem experience...

Ludovic Blas from FC Nantes should be getting some attention from the prem. 24 years old, plays AM or RM, 25 goals and 10 assists in 80 games over the last two seasons. Contract runs out summer 2024.

We should go all in for Moussa Dembele.

We should go all in for Moussa Dembele.
I'd certainly prefer him to the likes of Che Adams!

I like that we're getting linked with several strikers. We obviously need one, so the best way to mask our true intent is to publicly pursue several different names.

Ajorque seems unlikely to me given his age and the fact that Strasbourg haven't got a deep squad.

Rennes have multiple players we'd like but realistically they will only sell one this summer, surely?

Apart from the obvious beyond dodgy facial recognition issues we are collectively having can I ask how anyone gets from photo boy’s missus thinking his name ‘sounded like Eze’ to Bamba Dieng? I mean!!! Serhou Guirassy/Eze maybe if it was very noisy/you were very drunk but Dieng/Eze??

Add to the fact that he quite clearly looks nothing like Eberechi Eze
