1 of the 2 strikers we desperately need, needs to be a long term replacement for DCL because come next summer he'll be the next one to go. A smart club gets the next striker lined up and in place now and gives them a season to settle in, and given Dom's injuries over the last 12 months any players coming in will get plenty of game time.

100% agree.

This is the point that is NOT addressed by Adams or Maupay. Neither are more prolific than DCL and both are roughly the same age, so they do not stack up as anything other than a backup to our current #9... And he has injury issues.

We either need a younger guy with the potential to be better than DCL given 12 months, (Broja? Dieng? Brereton Diaz? Burkardt?) or a proven goalscorer who is better than DCL and about the same age (Dembele?). The other category is "older &/or cheaper, but on loan only": Ajorque, for instance.

Adams and Maupay don't make sense at £15m. They've been mediocre at best in teams that created more chances than us last year. Guirassy is the better gamble at £15m... But if we're getting anyone from Rennes it should be Terrier, with a CF coming from elsewhere.

Gakpo is the one I reckon, be a very strong Richy replacement. In theory within budget if Gordon goes although think he’ll go to a bigger club. Hasn’t so far mind you.

We need a DM. Even if Onana spends most of his time there we will have to cover the inevitable injuries and suspensions. Is this kid a proper candidate?

£14m seems acceptable at his age, and is a fee that we could probably recoup by selling Allan or Gbamin. Plus if he underwhelms he'll still be young enough to get some cash back by selling.

We need a striker, not a back up striker, a starting striker. DCL's injury record suggests he wont feature as much as a guaranteed #9 should.

Sangare but not after signing Onana. Walter Benitez was my idea of a cheap keeper to sign if someone got wild and offered a ton for Pickford. If Madueke is really that far out of favor and therefore cheap he's absolutely worth a punt on.
