What was actually said regarding Sarr and Terrier etc?
Just that we have enquired about Sarr. Palace were quoted £25m, mostly upfront was the implication, and we have asked about him but no firm enquiry.

We have scouted Terrier and Guirassy extensively but it's just interest. Nothing at all advanced for any forward at the moment.

Everton want 2 forwards, might change to more if Gordon goes. Also mentioned that we tried to take Adams on loan, but Southampton rejected it. They may be interested in a decent financial deal for a purchase, which we are mulling over. ?‍♂️

The short version is probably that we have made lowball offers that aren't enough to secure any of them, and that the club probably knew that.

What happened with Sergio Reguilon at spurs, at one stage spurs were worried Madrid were going to activate his buy back clause. Always looked top draw when I have seen him live.

Partly wish we had got him in on loan, unless I have missed soemthing and he is actually terrible.

We need one for this Saturday sigh…

What are you talking about ???

Our mess is financial, and down to us wasting millions and millions on big names and over priced players that have not delivered.

That is NOT Gray, Townsend and Rondon.
There are multiple messes at this club.

The financial issues are not the fault of Gray, Townsend and Rondon.

Our sporting failures are, in part, down to Gray, Townsend and Rondon.

We have 3 LB mate.

I just can't see that at all. Levy is no mug. Yes he got him off their wage bill but we haven't paid them a dime to then get a €6m profit?
I mean he's our player, there's not really anything they can do about it we can do with him what we wish. It might unofficially annoy them and they might not want to deal with us in future or something like that but I doubt there's anything we could possibly be contractually obligated to do other than the sell on percentage.

A player who had one good season in the Championship should worth anything under £15m.
Very, very interesting supposition.

I can imagine a player worth north of Ligue 1 prices for a single great Championship season. This seems rare. I can also imagine a lot of players who were good in the Championship for a season that should not be worth anything near 15 million quid.

All of that said, it's probably not a bad rule of thumb in terms of a ceiling.

Sarr has never done it in the prem, 5 goals in each of his 2 seasons. MGW also isn’t linked for £25m as they seem to want £40m for him which is again mental and not worth paying for someone who’s never done it in the prem.
On the Sarr links removed of him possibly coming to us, he is a great case study in the potential risks of not agreeing to this Gordon Chelsea offer. A year or two ago Sarr was being linked to the likes of Liverpool and others for what likely would have been 40 plus. Getting older, the production staying relatively the same, the numbers being thrown about are marginal if not below what Watford bought him for.

Clearly they are two different players, and the trajectory in Gordons case could appreciate, but the likes of Brighton don't worry if there is a possible higher number in a year or two's time. They calculate their initial investment, the risk and judge the return in correlation to how they can reinvest that money .

There are good odds that this is Gordon's highmark evaluation for years, if ever. That has to be factored as much as the possibility of it getting higher. In my opinion the synthesis of those two paths, and the needed funds to improve the squad point to the sale being wise.
