We've systematically been taken from a squad fully capable of challenging for Europe with one of the very best managers in the world, into a squad full of players that wouldn't look out of place a league down, with a manager who doesn't appear to have much about him and teams picking off our best players. Now the expectations are so low amongst the fan base that even just survival in the league would count as a great season.

Basically because the outgoings were approaching 150M higher than incomings, so the cost cutting was necessary... It's tough, but the same thing is happening to Leicester, a few mistakes in the transfer market and a bad season and everything falls apart.

Barkley ? Why Barkley ? they are reputedly willing to pay off his contract to get shut of him, that is something you don’t hear of much.
He has been up for sale since before the window opened and the lack of any suitors tells you what the game in general thinks of him.

When did we have a squad fully capable of challenging for Europe?
If you are referring to carlo’s full season, we finished 10th after an amazing start but were absolute dire second half of the season. That ‘squad’ made possibly the best manager in the world realise even he couldn’t continue the Project!

We won’t. Hope those happy with him staying are satisfied with Maupay, McNeil and Rondon. DCL will be fit for about 10 games.
