Ok and on the whole a good window, we finish stronger than before seemingly signing good solid pro's before mercenary drop outs. Would obviously have like a new striker but maupay will do a decent job but our defence and midfield are far far stronger

On a positive note, I think we have improved the midfield immensely, lots of energy in there, I can see Garner and Onana both playing the number 8 position with Gana dropping deep, Iwobi also playing possibly on the right wing.

Lots more options and young players as well which is fantastic, apart from Gana but he is like a machine and doesn’t stop

Think we had a good window when you really consider who in their right mind would like to come to us (no Europe etc) and the FFP restrictions in place Maybe keeping Gordon will be our replacement for Richie and all through the team we have bettered ourselves Calvert staying fit will be crucial but we only play about a dozen games and the window will be open again

Not so much about a striker as a lack of anything to frighten the opposition.

Creativity and unpredictability, that’s what we sold and we hadn’t much of it to begin with.

43 goals last season, no Richy or Ali who wasn’t great but his job description hasn’t been filled.

3 pts for a win and one for a draw. We’re the most predictable side in the PL.

Very solid window.

Complete reconstruction of our midfield.

Defense is undoubtedly more solid (we currently have Mina, Holgate and Godfrey injured, and you wouldn't even know).

Ideal scenario would have liked another forward, but a group of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Maupay, Gordon, Gray and McNeil will get us through the next 10-12 games prior to Jan.

The outgoings have been spot on, good loan places for up and coming talent and a mass clear out of dross (Dele, Gomes, Gbamin, Delph, Kenny, Tosun, Siggurdsson).

And all of this done on a relatively tight budget. Not perfect, but really good.
Shifting Dele, Gomes and Gbamin is significant.

Over £250k per week in wages for those three - even if we're still paying 75% of it overall, we've saved £65k per week and lost nothing, because the three of them were never going to play for us anyway. That saving pays the wage for Maupay.
