And Saints (reportedly) want £25m for Adams while Rovers want £15m for Ben Brereton Díaz all while we paid ~£20m for McNeil.

Chelsea want AG for £60m

Tell me again how £30m valuation for Joao Pedro is that far off base
Because he doesn't rate him basically... ?

A proven regular Brazil international will, in all likelihood, demand a higher wage as well as the higher purchase cost.
We would hope the younger lad could himself become a regular international but at less cost to us in the process and with more profit margin in the future.
He’s not even been called up to U20, U21 etc.

Amazing we haven't been linked to Braithwaite at Barca. Been omitted from their squad and not given a number, so expect to see some murmurings in the next week

Genuine question: Would you rather?

A) Sell AG and bring in Diaz + Adams for combined £40m

B) Keep AG and bring in someone like Guirassy on loan

Cos they're the best 2 scenarios we're getting.
Well no because you could sell AG, bring in Guirassy on loan and spend 50m on an actual 50m player and that would be better than either option or what we have now.

He had a bad spell with Middlesbrough a few years back and don't think he would want to play in England again, might be wrong though he could have changed his mind.

Aging player coming off a knee injury that has received all of ten minutes since. No one knows what's in the box, and his numbers were never all that impressive to start with. I can't see anyone rolling the dice on comparable wages. Barcelona's best option is probably to loan him out to someplace like Turkey for what they can get and hope he impresses, honestly.

Yeah you're talking 150k per week instead of 60k/week.

So 42 (+add-ons)+ 37.5 wages over 5 years = 80M

Can't afford to invest 80M on a player from abroad, especially one that has already gone to another country and been far from a success.

Joao Pedro - 25 (+add-ons) + 15= 40.

Half the price, and you have a much lower chance of the player being unsettled in the country, problems with the style of the league, settling with João Pedro.

Maybe they aren't the same quality now, but João Pedro has a much lower risk element added to it...

That team would not score enough goals to stay in the division imo.

Who creates? Who scores?
This team will always need DCL to score. Gray is our second best threat according to advanced stats. Diaz should help, as well as Pedro.

This team is not going to create in this type of formation we are playing under Lampard. We are going to be playing defensive football with hard pressing hoping for counter attack goals + being threat from set pieces.

5-2-3 formation we were plaiyng is actually almost all the same, we are just trading being usually overrun in midfield for more pressing forward.
