I mentioned the following players leaving -

Nkonkou- on loan
Mina
James
Richarlison - also said Rafael would ideally like to keep him if he can.

I said Kean would be staying.

I mentioned Coutinho coming in on a loan to buy option if we sell James.

Hudson-Odoi, Perez on a loan to buy, ASM being looked at if we sell Richarlison.

I said a week ago that Koulibaly had name dropped Rafael as a highly influential manager for his career and that he would be a defender we could look at signing. I then mention earlier that he is being touted at 35 million.

I also said a deal was in place for Nunes and its up to Rafael to sign off on it and he should be our first signing.
So you've just hedged all your bets based upon rumours that are already out in the media.

I think other areas need looking at before CB for me, it's not a priority. Get a decent midfield and it will help the defence.
I have to agree. Whilst an upgrade at CB would be good (and we shouldn't ignore it if the possibility arises), we're going to struggle massively if we don't strengthen central midfield and the entire right flank.

If we genuinely have money, I hope we are putting pressure on Leeds for Kalvin Phillips. Stick him at DM with Allan and Doucoure slightly more advanced, I'd be delighted. If not him, McTominay from ManYoo would slot in very well in the same spot and if they recruit like they normally do he MIGHT become available.

Napoli are willing to sell a few players as they need to make cuts to their wage bill. Big chance to sign Koulibaly.

I saw we were linked with him over the weekend, think again its journo's clutching at straws, Rafael signed him for Napoli in 2014, Napoli need to sell players and the media believe Rafael wants a CB. Talking about £35m for a 30 year old CB when we already have 4 CB's. If the manager is planning to play 532, then I get it. We have been linked with koulibaly several time over the years with the supposed price ranging from £90m to £60m.

I'll go for Koulibaly. I think he'd do well.

But I'll be fuming if we go for Saint-Maximum. Don't rate him at all. And the money mentioned is sickening..

…historically we’ve done well buying CBs in their 30s but like Rodriguez, I just think these are headline signings which are short-term.
I think having a top class old head next to Godfrey would be great for both the team and Godfrey's development. You only have to look at Bonucci and Chiellini last night to see what a positive effect a top class experienced centre half can do for a team.
