He's a dribbler who offers absolutely nothing else. And while we do need a bit of pace and dribbling ability it would really be preferable to find someone who adds at least one other skill. Especially if we're paying 35m. Actually for 35m we should be signing Doku and hoping he can develop other skills which is more likely than Saint-Maximin doing it.
Don't disagree but isn't Doku a full back?

Didn't he only sign for rennes in October for €26m? You think they sell him to us less than a year later for just over £10m more?

If they have no money like most of the French teams than maybe but I'm mostly just talking hypotheticals I have no idea how likely anything is.

Don't think Aarons is what we need. Last time in the PL, 36 matches played: one assist, no goals.

If he's supposed to be a "wing back", he doesn't contribute to very much scoring.

Far prefer Dumfries.
Agree, wouldn't sign him either.

None of the top 6 would sign him, we shouldn't either.

The mirror linking us with a £50m move for Allan Saint-Maximin from Newcastle, the article states they want £60m and also mentions us wanting Dumfries, Aarons and Zouma.

I feel like this Allan Saint-Maximin story is something that has been bouncing round on social media because people have just looked at Newcastle and thought "benitez used to manage Newcastle, who would he want to take to Everton?" ignoring the fact that Saint-Maximin joined Newcastle after Benitez left.

Maximin>>>>>Bolaise.

For such a supposedly 'big' club. Everton are horrible in the transfer market. You need to try and copy Leicester methods of buying low, selling high.

They have really put you to shame the last few years.
We poached their boss director of football who won them the league.

He spunked about half a billion up the wall and lashed 5 year contracts all over the show.

I'm telling y'all, we ain't signing shiz this offseason. Benitez is here to keep us up and collect a paycheck while we complete our squad overhaul. We're going to run it back with the same players along with Gbamin and Kean, maybe we'll make a smaller signing or two. If a large offer comes in for anyone, we're selling.

Benitez only got the job because he's friendly with Farhad and understands the short term plan. He'll be here for two seasons while we run down the contracts of 90% of our dross, and we'll finish in the 10-14 range both seasons. Moshiri and Brands are building to compete at Bramley Moore, not now.

Now I only 51% believe this true, but it really is the only thing that makes sense so far with his appointment and our lack of transfer activity. And if that is really is the plan, I don't hate it. We are LONG overdue for a massive reset.

If that were the plan, I honestly wouldn't mind it. Got to get rid of a lot of these players.

But I don't buy the idea they only want to compete once the new stadium is completed. That's easier said than done. You better start laying the foundation now.
