Ideally before the start of preseason but let's be honest, we signed three players last season a week before the start and all three went straight into the team for the first game and we went on the best run of form we had last season.

Madrid bought Rodgygo for 45million Euro and he played 40+ games for them last year. Get your point though, there should be decent bargains to be had and players wanting prem wages and first team football building up to a World Cup.

yeah, probably right, but he is behind Vinicius now, they want Mbappe and need money. Same with Reinier who would probably be a liklier target

Reinier's got another year left on loan at Dortmund, I think.

Dosent think we are the right club to help him progress.
Our record of young players in the first team, succesful loan spells and our players being improved by acadamy coaches is apauling

Think its more average than appalling. Youth recruitment is the main determining factor in the quality of players coming out of the youth team... And we have really tough competition in the north west hence the difficulties bringing through a lot of first teamers.

But on that point... He has made it to the first team by the age of 16. There is one player in front of him... what else could he want?

There is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to produce Premier League players, even with the competition in the area, we are the 3rd biggest club in the north west. I don’t even think it’s a case of inadequate youth recruitment, it’s that our players just stop developing as soon as they hit the under 23s.
