the new guy Ese. Scott Dann, Aanholt Zaha, Cahill Tomkins McArthur Clyne.

so they have 8 first team players yet the team is crap? Please explain.
ESE has potential
Scott dann? Palace are the best team he’s ever played for
Anholt? So good that nobody decent has ever bought him
Zaha is ok and has skill but again… is in his prime and playing at palace with nobody breaking the bank to buy him
Cahill was good about 4 years ago
Tomkkns? As in the fella that has played for the mighty westham and then moved to palace and again has had no interest from any decent clubs
McArthur … he may get in our midfield but he’s hardly “good”
And I honestly would rather have Coleman over Clyne

As said lets wait and see before the window closes before claiming we are skint etc.

We have a tendancy to only sign squad fillers first - if we go into the season with Gray, Iwobi & Townsend as just options off the bench and have proven quality in the starting 11 brought in I dont know how you cant be happy.

I'll only be fuming if Gray or Townsend are starting games for us as first 11 players but we dont know that yet especially with Benard looking to be on his way out and Iwobi looking more like he's playing central under Benitez.
Il wait and see as its still mid July. Still think the bonus will be bringing in maybe 3 players who will start after we get rid of mentioned 4 or 5 players. Fine with the short term cheap squad filler if they replace the ones stealing a living. Im also all for having 2 or 3 of our best young lads given a chance also if they impress. Rather watch them then others who provide nothing and show no effort

We'll sell them James for £12 and some pringles instead mate.

'Wages off the books tho' – the Brands lovers and super bloos will say
There's a weird venn diagram of people furiously trying to rationalise the signings of Townsend and Gray significantly overlapping with people justifying the departure of James. Apparently they are desperate to have a team devoid of any and all creativity.

BRUCE: CARROLL HAS BEEN RELEASED
Steve Bruce has confirmed that Andy Carroll has been released by Newcastle.
Carroll was among the list of players released at the end of June but some reports suggested he would be kept on a one-year deal.
However, speaking after Newcastle lost 1-0 to York in pre-season, Bruce said: “I had a conversation with Andy. I think he wants to go and play.
“I wish the lad all the best. I hope it goes well for the rest of his career. He’s certainly been a big help to me in the last couple of years, that’s for sure.”

At last the news we've been waiting for...... Andy Carroll is available!

Benitez can't wait to get him to join Begovic , Townsend and Gray in his Everton revolution.

What a great summer this is.

I think this is a reset period for us Toff, we are still dealing with serious mismanagement and handing out mega contracts to sub par players.

While I am not sitting here made up at signing Townsend and Gray, I am certainly not thinking they are worse options then we have on our bench currently, who earn an absolute tonne more.

If they come in and are back up players, give us room to wiggle and bring in players like Bailey, Dumfries and another, am all for loosing some expensive dead wood. I caveat that with, loosing James will be a nightmare, 20 odd games we need that creativity.

If they come in and are starters, then my anger about Benitez which has slightly subsided at the moment (acceptance stage) will boil over very quickly.

This team isn’t so bad

Pickford

Dumfries Godfrey Mina Digne

Allan Gbamin Docuoure

Richarlison DCL Gray

Bench: Kean Townsend Gordon Gomes Holgate Nkonkou Begovic

That’s one signing away currently (if Gray goes through with Townsend)

If we can add better depth in central midfield then we’re not looking awful.

Now while I don't see the uproar over the signings, I won't be happy if any of them are starters. Squad fillers who will do a job and free money to get bigger players.. yes.

If this leads to us getting a Bailey, I will be absolutely delighted.

That first team is 8th in the league at best, combine with that bench and we'll be lucky to make top half. I see you have sold off James and Keane in your scenario.
