Dunno who this is, but I hope it's true.

Relegation fodder that could have scored 4/5 against us at Goodison without Grealish if it wasn’t for Pickford… Suppose that was every home game second half of the season tbf…
The irony of their keeper being one of their best players when ours was the only one playing well
Yes we were horrendous at home. We also had a lot more injuries than them. I think Barkley missed a few games and then they lost Grealish for about 10 games at the end of the season amd cash the RB had a spell out the side. But had their strongest 11 fit for the majority.

My point was they are very reliant on one man a lot more than us.

McNeil only makes sense if we focus on bringing in a nucleus of young English starters to add to DCL and Godfrey.

Bailey looks to have the X-factor and we bought Iwobi for more than Bailey would have cost at the time...think Leverkusen wanted £25mil for him in 2019.

How much net spend do you consider "big" ?
Bigger than Gray £1.5 mil and two free signings. People om here acting like that is our summer spend.

Also, 55mil is a good average net spend. 3rd highest in the richest league in the world. Only blues could cry about that

If Bailey goes to villa I’ll be livid

Feels a bit like Pepe to Arsenal when we were linked and look how that has turned out. Form elsewhere doesn’t always translate to the Prem. Not saying I wouldn’t have him, but if he was that good I would have thought teams like Dortmund would have been in for him as a possible Sancho replacement or suchlike.

He’s one of those that plenty seem to have watched for a couple of seasons but no one taking the plunge… yet. Perhaps some other question marks about him - attitude?

All this said, if we can’t afford him, we can’t afford him or our current wage bill as a ratio of turnover is limiting our ability to meet the wage demands of players like him and Dumfries.

Erm that's really not true. It's football or the dialect translation of football in 90% of countries.
Just went to do some googling...I had some time...:)

  1. Jason Says:
The God’s honest truth is that the word “soccer” is an Oxford abbreviation of the term Association Football, in an effort to differentiate it from rugby football in the 1880s. Get over yourselves, Brits. You gave us the word soccer, we just ran with it.

Just based on my opinion.

I don’t expect us to bring any major signings in unless we sell, be it due to transfer funds or wages. FFP back in operation again this summer, last summer it was suspended so we got away with it.
That's fair enough mate. "I don't expect..." is a million miles from "It's looking like...", though. We've all got opinions on what will happen but framing them like fact is a bit naughty.

Think we need to accept that Leeds, Villa and West Ham are all better options than Everton at the moment. This season is about balancing the books and if we finish top 7 then its an overachievement

Y
Villa look relegation fodder without Grealish. After him their keeper was one of there best players. How we didn’t put 4 or 5 past them at their place, god only knows. They’ve also spent a fortune over the last few years, so must be also close to breaking financial rules. Unless they sell Grealish.

West Ham a one season wonder, got lucky with no injuries. And with Europe that could hold them back.

Leeds are a good side and had a good season, but I’d imagine a lot of sides will be better prepared next season on how to play against them.

It’s a big IF, but let’s see where we’re at the end of the window. If we get the quality RB and RW. Another quality midfielder or attacking midfielder if James goes. Then I’m confident with the quality we all ready have and a manager who seems more interested in building a team and not indulging his favourite players. I fully expect us to finish above all three

Id be amazed if we finished ahead of Villa, Leeds or WHU as the crow flies.

I think that’s a fair shout. Who didn’t like pepes highlights before heading to arsenal. Though I’d say he was definitely more of a showman with lots of little tricks while Bailey seems more direct and quick which I think should translate better
