Context is straightforward...
Moshiri believes that we should be "challenging at the top of the league" based on a £55mil net spend and apparently we "built a squad" for Ancelotti...
I dont believe either are realistic statements by any stretch of the imagination.
We have lost 300million as a business over the last 2 years. But the context is our ffp and p&l situation.
You might not think that £55m net isn't alot but according to the people incharge of football its probably more then what we're supposed to be spending and dont forget its not just fees but wages as well. We were throwing stupid money at average at best players and down right crap at others.
When brands came in we had 38 professional players on our books. 38! And only about 15 of them were sellable the other 23 were dross and knew they'd never be able to get the money we were stupid enough to give them anywhere else so they just sat on their contracts.
I honestly believe we want to spend more money but we just can't. We're just not allowed and unlike the big teams who would get a slap on the wrists for breaking ffp you know they'd burn us at the stake. Especially after we called the FA out over the esl situation.
Our defenders were stepping out with the ball more in the early part of the seasonI don’t 100% agree with this - there was one style of football for us that was pretty successful just dull as dishwater. We just couldn’t function when the opposition sat back against us.
Aside from the results against the more moneyed teams I think back to Brighton away who up to that game had been prolific at creating chances and how we completely shut them down (we barely attacked either but that’s another matter).
I don’t see the overall style changing much more that we’re trying to add wide men who can travel distances with the ball when we’ll be playing on the counter away from home and also allowing us to switch the play quickly at home to try and and disrupt the opposition defence.
What about the rumours linking us to Lingard along with WHU?
Surely it's only a matter of time before Paelladyce goes for the Rondon Hotline.
No we don't. Man Utd want West ham to pay for him so they are linking him with clubs that will get under Moyes's skin.We want him on loan.

Already offered him a contract.
