First of all I’ve not seen it coming from any reputable source. Secondly - and I could be wrong - but I’m sure I’ve seen this link somewhere before. Invariably that’s a sign of lazy journalism in the absence of a genuine link.

Lastly he’s badly crap.

He’s not a like for like though. He’s basically a holding midfielder.
Rafael has preferred in the past 4231. So With Allan, Doucoure, Gbamin, Davies. Youngsters like Onyango and price looking good. Why would you waste 25mil on a player not getting a start.

Surely if you are spending that type of money. They should be in the top 3 midfielders.
if that’s the midfield we start the season with and the club won’t another body. Go and loan someone

Does sound fake news although in a 433 maybe he would rather go with 3 yard dogs like the RS and have like Doucoure/Allan/Winks with the front 3 given more licence to attack?

Cant see it happening either way think we'll steer clear of that price.

Look I'm not advocating a move for Winks, far from it, he is just sits on the halfway line playing 5 yard passes and not much else. Maybe Benitez just does'nt rate any of our current midfielders, I can't say I do if I'm honest.
