Everton Summer transfers 2021

Let's just fill the team with cheap solid EPL players that will take us backwards... Superb strategy. Also this is from a manager who has to win over the fans. I get our budget is limited but jesus you don't have to take dross to make up the numbers.

I wouldn't say its lack of scouting more that we are up to our eyeballs with FFP and still need to spend on a RB, RW & CM for the starting 11.

Im certain if we had £90 million for Lukaku or Martinez we would have been in for either one of them.

The level of angst in the fanbase at the moment is based solely on unrealistic expectations. We can talk about signing quality next summer when we flog Richarlison or DCL for massive money until then its bargain based deals unless we can punt a Holgate/Kean.

It'll be two or three loans and one transfer for around the £20m mark, probably most if not all on deadline day.

The loan strategy this season at least makes sense as there's going to be a lot of players available late on that fall through the gaps as moves happen around them.

Let's be honest, it wouldn't surprise any of us if we are. Our recruitment this season is of a promoted side or a team desperate to survive.

I'm starting to wonder if all this is real or if I am going to wake up

It stinks of being on Football Manager after just being promoted and setting the search filters to "Under £2m" and just throwing bids in for any name you recognise on the list doesn't it?

"Demarai Gray, that Leicester lad yeah? He'll do. Andros Townsend! He played for England, might get a few assists.... OOOOH BEGOVIC, DEFFO LA"

With the tosh in the squad and the tosh we’re linked with I reckon we might need to dope our players to get in the top 10.

Any player who chose - willingly - to leave the top leagues to be paid in China in his prime should be avoided like the plague.

Rondon has proven himself to be a mercenary. He's the wrong age and epitomises everything we shouldn't be doing in terms of a transfer, for any amount of money.

It's a hard no from me.

What about a manager?

I agree although one or two outs and we could potentially spend a bit of dough. Crying everytime we are linked to an average but steady squad player does no one any good when the reality is thats the market we are sadly operating in this summer.

I'd be quite happy if we made a few more Godfrey type signings. There are players who have potential out there, maybe not as obvious as Godfrey, but I'd rather see us go down that route.

Rondon isn't an average but steady squad player - he's a 31 year old mercenary eyeing one last big contract.

If we haven't learned the problem with bringing these types in by now then fold the club.
