Yes December.. Moyes will be having another good season - when after the derby at Goodison we'll be looking AGAIN at a new manager
EWJ
Benitez is here for a long stay.
We will need to be in the relegation zone for a few weeks before he will come under pressure from the owner who we have seen with the Benitez appointment in the first place does not listen to fans.

The lack of spending on players will lengthen his time as manager rather than shortening it as he will be given time to trim the fat off the squad before rebuilding.
I still believe we will see players brought in before the transfer window closes.

I think it will take a series of disastrous results for him to lose his position and I think there is too much talent in the squad for that to happen.

So far , we have not lost anyone who contributed in a meaningful way last season and have added players the manager will use..... last season was as positive as it was negative with Europe slipping away in the last three or four games.

Losing at home to Sheff. Utd was the cherry on that particular cake

I know that when players join a club they generally see a salary increase - but does everybody else do it so dramatically?

Richarlison going from 23k to 110k
Pickford going from 20k to 60k (and eventually 120k)
Iwobi going from 53k to 100k (gulp)
Michael Keane from 21k to 59K
Allan from 64k to 120k
Gbamin from 35k to 75k

and the list goes on

Are we so meek and mild about our draw as a club that we have to offer these massively overinflated wages to attract players here?

The more I think about the state the club is in, the more I think Brands has done a truly awful job

That was the ‘awfully timed’ comment. We bought him, Vlasic, Rooney and Klaasen at the same time who all play the same way in the same positions. Vlasic could’ve been good for us, I was impressed watching him at Goodison, just too rarely…
Lookman and Dowell weren’t good enough though sadly and I’m not sure Kean missed opportunities because of Sigurdsson.

Iwobi is rubbish though mate, maybe better than Sigurdsson but I hope we never find out because they both never play for us again.
The thing with Lookman and Dowell is we made an entire mess of their development by sending them here there and everywhere in some crucial years. The trajectory of their careers were completely thrown off by how we handled them and a lot of that can be traced back to not wanting to take Sigurdsson out of the team. Vlasic looks the best now because he managed to escape to a situation that allowed him to develop.
