Everton Summer transfers 2021

Just way too much apathetic bad dross that make up Everton. You'd need 8 quality signings to try and cause a paradigm shift. All players we sign get sucked into it. Like a black hole of mediocrity.

Roll on page 2667 then

Hi, this is Everton here. Will you take monster munch in lieu of payment??
I really hope Marcel Brands starts every phone call with a ‘Hi, this is Everton Football Club here, how are you today?’.

Impressed with a random ‘we’re keen on Zakaria’ link out of nowhere. In truth I reckon we’re keen on Haaland as well but we’re not gonna buy him either…

how do these journalists write reports linking us with players we not only can't afford but have zero interest in signing with us anyway? I think I could do a better job than them lol

Everton to splash the ‘Cash’
In a sensational swoop, Everton on on the brink of signing Matty Cash from Aston Villa. The 24 year old was said to be disappointed that Jack Grealish left the club and asked for a move, whilst the club are willing to chop and change their line up quite significantly in lieu of recent signings and sales.

Everton have been looking for a new right back for a couple of years now as captain Seamus Coleman is getting towards the end of his career. Everton are said to wish to still play Coleman but need a younger right back to share the workload and hopefully take over full time in a season or two.

The deal will comprise of 20p and a twix because Everton are proper skint lads.

There you go. Far better name plucked out the blue with credible details and facts taken straight off Wikipedia.

Links like this get zero response, if it was the same "source" but, Longstaff or Rondon, there'd be another melt down.

I'm certain Zakaria will move this window, but there are plenty of better teams than us without the FFP issues we've got who will want him.

Shame like, because he can play as a proper 6 and would allow us to play a 433 properly.

I also think the grey clouds hanging over our number 10 at the moment may be holding things up a bit. Hopefully that gets cleared up sooner rather than later and we can move on with or without him.
Yeah you have to think one of our biggest assets in a situation like this is a big impact on our finances.
Is his name tarnished and he needs selling cheap to the MLS or something and we get a little fee? Do we need to fire him and we save on wages? Will this roll on for another year and we need to pay him ongoing throughout the case?
Either way, a lot of money involved.

Baffles me this view. You're not convinced Brands ever had power/accountability over transfers?!

As I've said earlier, we paid a few bob for Ben Godfrey who Ancelotti admitted he hadn't heard of. (Ancelotti wanted Gabriel Magalhães). Who made that Ben Godfrey signing?!

And there's no chance Ancelotti was arguing to bring in Doucoure who Brands wanted long before Ancelotti arrived. Who made that signing?

Amazing how the view of "Poor Marcel Brands, he isn't allowed to do his job" continues. If his name was Mark Brands and he didn't look the part - indeed if he looked like Steve Walsh - he'd never get that treatment.

The fella has been here since 2018 and since January 2019, when he was promoted to the board;

“Our approach now is to have a Director of Football with a broader remit, responsible for the whole footballing strategy at the Club, rather than just player recruitment.

"Marcel is now responsible, and accountable, for delivering the long-term, holistic, football strategy and principles, from Academy through to the first team.
“Marcel has now begun his work on delivering the cub’s long-term, permanent football strategy, working closely with the Academy Director (Joel Waldron) and Head of Football Strategy (Richard Battle).”

Very clear.

Credit him with the good, as well as the bad.
well said.
