Good morning all, please see the transfer rumours and stories doing the rounds for 24th August.

Everton have had a bid for 18-year-old Canada-born forward Daniel Jebbison, who represents England at youth level, turned down by Sheffield United. Aston Villa, Brentford and Leeds are also interested in the teenager. (Teamtalk)

In a recent tweet, Fichajes journalist Ekrem Konur
stated that Newcastle United are set to hold talks with Everton for James Rodriguez this summer. It is understood that the Magpies boss Steve Bruce wants to acquire the services of the Colombia international before the end of this summer transfer period.

Reported Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur target Ilaix Moriba will have ‘no future’ at Barcelona unless he signs a new contract with the La Liga giants, vice-president Rafael Yuste told Mundo Deportivo.

According to 90Min,
Moriba’s camp have held talks with a host of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Everton, Wolves and West Ham United.

Barcelona, meanwhile, would rather sell ‘the young Paul Pogba’ for around £21 million now than risk losing one of their prized assets for nothing.

Kalidou Koulibaly is praying Lorenzo Insigne stays at Napoli amid claims the Euro 2020 winner could be reunited with Rafael Benitez at Everton or join Fabio Paratici at Spurs, speaking to DAZN, via CalcioNews24.

Thierry Small has ripped up his Everton scholarship and will look to sign for another club.

The Blues’ youngest ever player had been offered a professional contract but rejected Everton ’s proposal. But Everton will be due compensation for the departure of the left-back with the fee set to be decided by a tribunal. (Echo)

Reported Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal target Joaquin Correa could leave Serie A giants Lazio this month but he certainly won’t be sold on the cheap, president Claudio Lotito has told Rai Sport, via Corriere.

Kylian Mbappe could yet move to Real Madrid this summer and Paris Saint-Germain are planning for exactly that eventuality.

According to RMC, the prospect of Madrid making an offer that PSG will accept is a “huge obstacle” to any move.

Meanwhile, adding fuel to the fire that Mbappe may finally be on his way from the club is the news that PSG are seriously eyeing up alternatives to the young forward in attack. The name being linked with them is Everton striker Richarlison, who is a close friend of Neymar.

A tweet from Nicolo Schira suggests that Everton are interested in Juventus midfielder Weston #McKennie. Juve are said to be asking €30M to sell the american player.

Mckennie would be an interesting one. If Gbamin is back rehabilitated then it would be good to add one more decent midfielder to the mix. That would give us 4. I think Benitez values Delph as well as a last choice in that position. That would mean we could get rid of Davies Gomes Siggurdson which would be brilliant.

We've done it before. Vlasic as stated - that was bloody ridiculous. In no way should one performance dictate a signing; there should be a raft of info and research behind every signing, and if they're not available you go down the list to find similar.

Hell, we did it with Fellaini famously - a last minute massive punt as we had money and he played well against Liverpool. It's just lazy - even if it comes off like it did with him, it's just blind luck. It indicates no serious system is in place.

With a DoF, you'd have hoped these amateur hour things were done, but no, we're even worse with it.
Vlasic is a very good player. A lot better than everything Brands has bought.
