so Kirkbride thinks we will sign 2 or 3 players this summer, but he’s not sure if that includes Olsen & king. So basically no new signing or maybe one. He also reckons Ancelotti has said we don’t need to spend big. When will he learn his lesson after last summer.

I don’t Think Olsen or king will sign and I doubt ancelotti is going to shout it from
The roof tops if we have plenty to spend.

But we need 4 or 5 IMO and at
Least 2/3 really top players to kick
On next season

The needs are pretty glaring. With no outs, we’re short a right back, a winger, and another center mid at minimum.

I suspect Gomes will be on the way out back to Spain or Portugal, and who knows with Siggy. Outs will dictate what other ins we need.

From the current squad this is who I would have a regulars in the starting 11

Short at least 3 x players

I would not even have Delph, Sigs, Iwobi, Gomes or Bernard as a sub - no chance, they have no shown anything why they deserve to wear an Everton jersey over performances over the last few years and these blokes are absolutely raking it in. Gbamin is a crock but lets leave him in for now

So the total deficit is 8 platers.

If we did that I am fairly confident Everton would more than be able to compete in the top 4 at a minimum and more important WIN a trophy

This is the stark reality of the quality of the squad

the deadwood passengers are on hefty salary, it will be hard to get rid of them unfortunately - short of driving them to some remote field and dumping them - that or paying off what is left of contracts

Gomes, Delph,Iwobi and Bernard at the very least need to be removed from duties
