Yeah but you see the likes of United, Liverpool and even Arsenal play the young lads when they have to. It isn't just the clubs lower down. United especially do so, and if they play well they often keep their place, for a few games at least.

We used to do it ourselves under Moyes, Martinez an even Koeman. Since Big Sam though we just stopped. Gordon had a couple of cameos. Just look at the number of good young players who have clamoured to get away from us over the last 4/5 years, culminating in Kean this week.

TBF that is exactly why I hope we don't sign Rondon and have to play Simms as an alternative to DCL instead - he at least is going to be much more likely to be arsed than an aging forward whose signed a deal knowing he is going to spend most of his time benched.
