You're right, we don't have anybody who goes box to box like him, unfortunately it isn't enough to get away with all the stuff he doesn't do.
 
Scoring goals is a huge issue 44 this season which is so low compared to the teams around us.

Clearly we need to add goals but I also think half our problem is our midfield is just not up to it.

We haven’t anyone who sets the pace or tone from CM hence James having to come deep to do so, bring me a CM who gets the ball and moves it on quickly and efficiently to our attacking players, I can’t deal with Allan or Doucoure taking 6 touches to pass it to the other

He offers more than Gomes/Delph/Sig/Iwobi in open play. Also I suspect he is told to hold with Allan at times and cover spaces James leaves. He doesn't play in the attacking role that Gomes/Sig/James and Iwobi have because none of them can do what he does. Our midfield and attack is imbalanced and it's not Allan or Doucoure's fault we haven't actually seen them all play with James since the sixth game so it's a moot point too...If Doucoure was a complete allrounder he would be Vieria class and wouldn't be playing for us lets face it. He has good attributes ones we miss against teams that press and sit. What we need is another player with his physical attributes but who can drive on and has better distribution. I would look at some of the waste of spaces before Doucoure who I would put in our top five most important players.

I'm not really suggesting that he shouldn't play for us now but that isn't really the bar for whether or not he's a good player or one we should look to upgrade on.

I don't really need him to be Vieira. I'd settle for Scott McTominay.

The fact that apart from DCL. attack wise we have no match changing pace and nothing remotely resembling a threat out wide means we are zero dimensional. With the players we have, we probably should be playing it long and high to Dom and Richie with the snails trying to support.

Put peak Kanchelskis into this side and we force the opposition to second guess all types of problems. Apart from Dom, we aint causing any great stress by popping it over to run on to. Apart from placed balls and the odd moment of James brilliance, we bring a good defence and a mobile phone to the gunfight.
