I agree with the sentiment here, but I'm a puzzled by the Moyes reference. He'd need the tools to do the job too. I'm not sure our squad would suit his needs and methods either.Agree with this 100%.
We have a manger who needs to correct tools to win stuff but if we aren’t giving him them it why didn’t we get Moyes back.
Back him.
I agree - if you take the sunny side up approach then you hope its lessons learnt - put a bit of pace around some of our technical players and i think it would be quite transformativeThat begs the question of when they developed that philosophy. If they learned a few things from the first two years and started implementing that this past offseason, I'd say it's progress. Surround a few technically gifted players such as Rodriguez with workhorses that get and feed them the ball, and you're likely to eventually get some service to the forwards.
As you point out, we're currently a bit short on workhorses.
We could do with controlling games though and then we aren't reliant on the CBs being perfect3 of the last 4 goals we conceded have all come from individual mistakes by our centre half's.
I presume there have been more . Carlo watching that knows we need better .
We also need to improve other positions as well but giving away goals like that kills you.
If we are signing a CB, that means we are 100% selling 1.
Holgate or Mina my money is on.
Centre back is the last thing we need. Keane and Mina first choice. Godfrey back up and cover at left back. Holgate 4th choice and cover at right back. Branthwaite developing.
The only way we need a centre half is by selling, and only Holgate should be available for sale.
If central defence is our priority this summer and not right back then we have learned nothing from previous years. We needed a right back under Martinez and here we are still waiting for the Coleman replacement.
I'm hoping it's not a priority and a case of 1 in 1 out for similar fees. I think all 4 CB's are good but none of them are really great. If we could get a really great one in the door then perfect.
Also have a horrible suspicion that Carlo is wanting to play a 3 at the back next season.
Think Bayern have been reported to be interested and Spurs also. Who knows what will happen though. Could be we are hedging our bets in case he goes elsewhere.
I imagine Keane and Holgate both making serious errors recently has given Carlo food for thought. I love Yerry but he may be our most saleable CB asset at present if we need to raise money.
Tugboat Keane for another season.
Maybe carlo wants a centre back.
Whats that kamara like is a holding cm instead of box to box sarr looks like
just what this thread needs to set the zat amongst the pigeons. bravo my buddy.Colour me shocked...
We 100% need a starting centre back.
To go into the new season with both Mina and Keane would mean no other option than a deep defence...while Ancelotti has said he wants us to play higher up the pitch.
Mina or Keane to go i think. Ideally Keane for ability and Mina due to injuries and his contract only having 2 years left.
Certainly hope the oaf isnt here next season.
Id be astonished if he didnt.
Hes the one I want....
Came into the Marseille team playing left back and centre back and this season has been moved into defensive and central midfield.
Really good all rounder...quick, good passer, tackler etc...only 1 year on his contract.
He'll be in the french side before long.
Still waiting for that Donkey Gabriel to make the Brazil squad by the way Zatmania.Colour me shocked...

And keep dreaming, Keane wont be sold.
Aside from it looking ever increasingly correct i was that we will sign a centre back...
Ive also realised why Keane falls to pieces in front of a crowd...
Its the whistling...
I hope Carlo doesn't think we can play higher up the pitch because he has faster CBs with the current set of midfielders. It really will be a repeat of Silva's second season.Colour me shocked...
