Everton Summer transfers 2021

Everton are rumoured to be weighing up alternative targets to Max Aarons after talks to bring the highly-rated full-back to Goodison Park from Norwich ended without success.

According to Fabrizio Romano, football correspondent for The Guardian and Sky Sports Italia, there is no chance of the 21-year-old joining his former team-mate Ben Godfrey at Everton amid whispers the club balked at the £30m asking price.

In the meantime, there is renewed talk in interest from Marcel Brands in Lille right-back Zeki Çelik who has been linked with the Blues before.

Ridle Baku of Wolfsburg is another name that has been bandied about in connection with Everton but there is, as yet, no reliable speculation suggesting he is a solid target for the club.
Brands bought Iwobi for £34M but "balks" at £30M for a top PL full back.

Reckon we’ll sign that Zeki Celik as our right back, good age, good stats, just won the league. Problem being he’ll do what nearly all Turks do when they land in England which is forget how to play footy.

And then they'll up pop up on here and Twitter saying it's Everton fans that are at fault for bad performances by supporting the Kurds.

Btw “balks” is one of those words you only ever hear in relation to football

Has anyone ever actually “baulked” at anything other than a transfer fee?

Max Aarons isnt a top PL full back.

He stank last time he was in the league.

That doesnt mean hes not a potentially good player, but to suggest hes a top PL full back, when he plays in The Championship, is wrong.
He was a top PL FB. The fact his team mates fell into the Championship denying him the right to underline his status is neither here nor there.

It wont surprise you to know that I identified the lad back in 2019 as one we should go for.

More bad input.

I think hes a potentially good player, but I think calling a player with 1 season in a relegated team a top PL full back is a stretch.

No, im not saying all relegated players are bad, im not even calling him bad, but hes not a top PL full back, yet.
