Everton Summer transfers 2021

We're skint, in a way. Not because of Moshiri, but because of our previous crap spend, plus the pandemic, plus everyone else is skint.

But we're looking at getting some extra funding in through a loan mechanism.

We need a firesale to really help us out. Unfortunately, unlike Inter, who have genuine quality to sell, we have Fabian Delph, Alex Iwobi, a midget and an injured Cenk Tosun.

Still think we'll have money to spend, but we don't have much unless we get something extra and/or sell. And we need to sell, because we have too much tosh.

Yes all very fair.

The only point with Inter though, they are in a worse financial situation than us, because their owners can't/won't keep funding them.

I think we will buy players, because we always do, irrespective of how the books look. Of the guys you've mentioned above, I cant see us selling any of them. Who is going to buy them? Even if Delph goes for a nominal fee, that will just go to covering his outstanding wages.

Our caste offs are on high wages and in a depressed market are worth very little. I even tghink the next level up, your Gomes's and Bernards the best we can hope for are loan agreements.

I’m genuinely in complete bewilderment of our transfer policy. We seem to be linked with every player available but make no early strides to get the actual targets before others start sniffing around. Aarons is a good example of someone we have been linked with for ages. But while we dither others come calling and turn their heads from Goodison. We then end up desperate and buy [Poor language removed] like Iwobi for extorted prices.

....this from the bloke who just a few weeks ago said: “the Reds are out of the Champions League race, vault me if I’m wrong”.

Your posts are always entertaining & worth a read but the contents as reliable as a Matt Hancock statement on Covid.
VVD will be a top player (...when at Celtic....he was)
Jelavic is essentially rubbish (he was)
Koeman is a fraud (he was and is)
Pickford is rubbish (he was and is)
Klaassen was too slow for the PL (he was)
Liverpool would be obliterated by Real Madrid in the CL (they were - x2)
Top of the table this Christmas - this Liverpool team are rubbish and would never retain a title (they are and didn't)
The DoF role at Everton would be a calamity (it has been)
Brands is taking the piss (he is)

...just a few.

Last summer we got all three of our first choice targets in James Doucoure Allan. We missed out on Gabriel after Arsenal moved in and probably got a better player in Godfrey for less.

Linked ?

99% of these players we are "linked" with we have no interest whatsoever.

Being 'linked with' and actively pursuing are two very different things though.

If Aarons is already definitely off like Romano is saying, it just means that we were never that interested to begin with.

We simply just need big, athletic, physical players who can find a pass (forward) and know how to find space. We’re still too nice and like to shift the responsibility. I’d like to know the remit our scouts are given

I'd prioritise pace over big. Our entire midfield is far too slow, only iwobi has a bit of speed but a lack of talent is his major fault.
