Sure I read somewhere Van Dyke signed a new deal with Liverpool last year over £200k, could have even been £230k. But thinking about it probably not true, as all Liverpool players are on the minimum wage. They do it a different way at Liverpool, than them big oil clubs.

180k there mate , seen it 220 on another site.

Sorry mate I must have dreamt it. lol thought he was on £180k but got a raise to £230k, you know to feed his kids etc.
This game will eat itself if these wages aren't brought under control. Nobody deserves too earn those ridiculous amounts of money, plus sponsorships on top and bonuses. It is disgraceful. I hope they are reigned in soon.

As much as the ESL was a shambles its because of these wages that it was even thought of. The answer should be to cap the wages not to try more and more ways of sustaining them.

Wrong mate.

Do you know who deserves these type of wages? The players, you know why? Cos they create the massive revenues that their clubs enjoy.

No mate, nobody in an entertainment industry deserves that kind of money. It has all spiralled out of control and a lot of clubs are struggling because of it. Look at our squad, you think they earn their wages?

Yes.

I think the players earn the club the massive revenues it creates.
It's all relative though, fans pay the price of the wages, if wages were much lower and transfer fees were a lot lower then gate prices would be lower. Football never needed the extortionate amounts of money to be a peoples game circa 1992.

I respect your opinion on this I just don't agree, we will never agree on this if that's the way you feel, no harm done.

Yeah, I cant see many people agreeing with my stance.

But fans defo do not pay their wages.

Everton earn around 18m a season from gate receipts and another 3m from the kit deal, we defo do not pay the players wages.

Not anymore I guess, that's why they need so much sponsorship and investment coming in, gate receipts barely scratch the surface these days.
