Everton Summer transfers 2021

Not that much, Everton have soured me on football in general lately tbh - but it's a league where the two outstanding creative talents in terms of assists both flopped at Watford and Southampton, so I'd simply advocate caution.

Watford and Southampton? Clasie and Janmaat are the only two who come to mind...

Tadic maybe? Can't really remember if he was much of a flop at Southampton but has been pretty good since he went to Ajax

Ahh forgot about him...think he was ok in the premier league.

Still think the best deals there are the south american imports and the u21 players.

More I watch and read about Dumfries, the more I think he is the perfect target. Physical, pacey and can cross the ball. But more importantly, he made 41 appearances last season, so doesn't appear to be injury-prone and is captain of PSV.

We are in desperate need of strong characters and leadership, so anyone that can add to that is really important.

Finally, for £15m, for a 25 year old, feels like a cracking price with re-sale possibilities if he shoots the lights out.

Go get him Marcel.

A back four of Dumfries Godfrey Mina Digne is strong and versatile.

Who said he can cross a ball?

Or as a prefect rwb if needed. We need more pace, power and height in the team.

If we are linked in signing him, £15m looks good value.

He is a versatile right back who plays in a 4 or part of 5 man midfield or as a centre back.

He has a more defensive impact which if you think of how we set up most of the season (4-3-3, 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1 & 3-5-2) he would fit in well especially with rumours of us signing a right winger and right back as priority.

Compare him to Max Aarons who had 2 goals/5 assists in 45 games v Dumfries' 2 goals/6 assists in 30 games, they have a similar impact to their squad.

Aarons is more of an attacking wing back who is given a more free role with Norwich whereas Dumfries is a more general right wing back who plays deeper then supports.

The huge plus for Dumfries is his xG stats or goal assists. He is head and shoulders over Aarons which seems he creates nearly 30% more but not for poor finishing from PSV.

In all honesty, if we can get a full International with European experience who Brands himself bought previously for £15m, I think that's a great signing to start off our summer spending.

There’s just no way you aren’t American. I won’t believe otherwise.

The problem is what happens when two out of four are injured. In training.
