I can only speak for myself but this has never been my expectation
Well just going off the above list why would Lille / Porto / Ajax manager come to us instead of managing in the CL

We're not going to be the club they ruin their reputation for... They have more ambition than that. Truth hurts.

Or the alternative apparently if we can't get a CL manager should just Big Dunc.... Eff off

None of these things mean you hire Nuno. We need to sign hungry players who can grow into CL players and we need to sign a manager whose tactics and methods have the upside of that as well. The dross Nuno serves up doesn't.

….not sure what this statement means given recent managers are now in charge of Barcelona, Real Madrid & the Belgium national team.
What

What relation does that have to someone coming here

Koeman got the Barca job because he's a legend there. Martinez it's very easy for average managers to get international jobs ( I wouldn't touch Germany, France, England managers ), Carlo used us as easy money until a better offer came along

Not sure of your point

Traore was grim last season, very good the season before and was talked up as one of the stars of that PL season.
Do some of your memories not go beyond 5 minutes ago?

"Very good" ?

Do some of YOUR memories not go beyond 5minutes...see below:

Traores alright if it was sensible but you know we’d end up spending about 50 mil on him

Traore is fast, if his end product matched he'd be playing for a big club. We are lacking pace but we also are very guilty of losing the ball with unforced errors and Traore will only add to that. He would attack though, he is exciting to watch I suppose until the frustration of no end product comes in.

I’m sure with all the players in the world we can find someone who has pace and can cross a ball; unlike Mr Universe who can only find row z behind the goal

You can’t be serious,
Traore who wolves wanted 80mil for Last summer. And would probably want 60 still this summer. Yes he’s powerful and very fast but he’s end product is awful. You can’t be spending that on a guy who went virtually a whole season with out getting an assist. And gets a goal every 14.7 games. Micheal Keane gets a goal for us every 21.5 games.

We need more goals at the top of the pitch. Yes we need pace as well. But if it was a choice flr
Me I would take goals or brains,
Over pace

If nuno is appointed, could possibly see us trying for Rafael Leão from Milan. Would be hard as they finished second so in the champions league, but he is a Jorge Mendez client.

The positives about Traore are simple. He is rapid and gets the ball up the pitch, plus can take 2-3 defenders out of the game freeing up space for others.

Negatives - no end product and would cost £50 +

swap deal for Iwobi and I’m all for it

Can see the benefits to Traore but as most have pointed out, he'll cost a lot.
An alternative that may tick the necessary boxes would be Trincao. Barca may be looking to offload, pacey, left footed rw.
Had been linked with Wolves and has Mendes for an agent.

We’ve spent worse £40ms to be honest

Adama Traore for Wolves

18/19: 29 premier league games 1 goal
19/20: 37 premier league games 4 goals
21/22 37 premier leqgue games 2 goals

Total = 103 games 7 goals

All competitions: 131 gqmes 10 goals

Rafael Leao: We wanted him at Lille. At Milan hes been hot/cold and moved around positions. I think hes best on the left hand side and if we were really splashing the cash he would be a decent rotation option for Richarlison.

However, Milan are asking silly money for him and i dont see him being under £30mil which means we could aim for a younger player to develop there instead.

Trincao: Hes a tough one as he did well for Braga but hasnt been given a chance for Barcelona. If James is playing on the right then he could be an ideal player to bring in on loan to rotate with him.

Similar to James the way he looks to come inside on his left foot. Quite like him but a bit risky to sign him permanently.

Match going lads i know relatively happy with this . One of them (old fella) said he would bin his season ticket off if Dunc for got the job , others agree would have been nightmare

…I suppose it depends on the definition of a CL manager. Celtic are in it most seasons as are lots of clubs who might be willing to come to us.

Everton are an attractive proposition, even for managers regularly competing in CL.

May be in a minority but I wouldn’t mind that traore - I remember him skinning digne a number of times in front of the gwladys street. Would be heaven sent for our pedestrian midfielders to have an out ball to someone to carry it long distances. We could even stick with our defending on the edge of box trick which is the only formation we seem to be adept at

Hes just Walcott with baby oil.

In fact, Walcott is a vastly better player.

People cant see beyond their own noses. Its not necessarily what Traore can offer in terms of goals/assists its what he can offer in terms of opening teams up / creating space for team mates to exploit / relieving pressure by bombing forward and getting us up the field.

Wouldnt be my first choice and wouldn't spend a penny over £30 million either but if his contract runs down to his final 12-18 months and he doesn't renew I would take him for the squad.

Rare that I completely agree with one of your posts, sir, but here we are…

A stopped clock is right twice a day, I suppose.
