Everton Summer transfers 2021

Seemes like a jib at Brands, and it may not be, but if it is.

Ask yourself would you pay a decent fee for any of them? I wouldn't give up a pack of jammy dodgers for Siggurdsson or Delph.

It’s always an odd criticism of Brands. He literally can’t sell players for below their book value even if he wanted to as it crystallises our losses which go straight into the negative column for FFP and means less money for our transfer fund. That’s why we see so many loans, it’s getting players off the wage bill whilst their contracts run down, then when their market value is higher than their book value they can be sold and we’ve got the profit for FFP and also saved on wages during this period.

The likes of Bolasie is a prime example. If we pay 30 mill for him on a 5 year deal, will someone give us more than 18 mill after two years with us which he’s spent injured with an ACL? Will they give us 12 mill after 3 years? What about 6 mill after 4? Maybe, but even then the clubs who might be interested in an over 30 player who has lost his pace due to injury and hasn’t played properly in years like Boro for example probably don’t have over 6 million to give us. Therefore we end up keeping him out on loan until his contract expires meaning we keep his wages off the book and we don’t record an FFP loss.

It’s all Brand’s fault though for not just selling players better.

If Mosh really wants us to accept the fat controller he needs to get his wallet out
His wallet is out, We are screwed due to ffp. Personally I would love him and Usmanov to splurge big but knowing our luck and board as we do... Guaranteed we would get a few point deductions, No one at the club would have the same balls that City had by taking it to court to fight the penalty. We are where we are. If Benitez does come in, Brands will have to try to sell our deadwood, Who would buy it though ? ... I know I wouldn't... Not a cat in hells. Bunch of looser who like collecting a paycheck for jogging round a bit.
The only sellable assets we have will be missed if they went.
Christ this is a miserable weekend.

Positions I have identified:

Number 10 I would resign Vlasic personally.
RW- I would have Viktor Tsygankov
LW- I would sign Marcus Thuram
RB - Pedro Porro, cheaper alternative Rasmus Kristensen

Out Kean, Holgate, Iwobi, Delph.
Out Brands. Campos in

The one thing I did like about our transfer policy last year is we looked more towards athleticism than years past. Avoid the slugs unless they are James level players. Chances are we will be a counter attacking team so reflect that.

He didn’t bankroll Ancelotti mate I doubt Benitez will be given a war chest but ultimately that’s what we need to improve this squad because as things currently stand I think next season could get messy.
True we will probably just carry on with the buys we were going to make under Carlo

We may well have a small budget, who knows? But do you think we could possibly move on from the FFP excuse? It was BS right from the start, with only tiny penalties handed out to clubs that actually qualified for European competitions. It’s now completely dead; it is not an issue, and there’s no need to cack yourself about it anymore!
