Wild to see Villa out there doing incredible business and we're sitting on our thumbs
define incredible business though? buendia from norwich who did zero when they were last in the prem? leon bailey agreed but there's nothing to say that he's gunna set the world alight. they're losing there talisman and captain in jack grealish, its naive to think that they are moving ahead of us at this stage.

wasn't too long ago when everyone was buzzing about klassen coming to us he was the captain of ajax banging goals in left right centre, sandro ramirez, sigurdsson

Opposition to Moshiri on what?

Signing all the bad players?

Did Moshiri sign all the good players too?
In regard to disagreement. It's quite well documented that Moshiri has made some decisions which were solely by him - Allardyce, Benitez. It's debatable how much others wanted those individuals, but the onus is on them to vocalise that. Brands has talked about 'changes to managers' causing problems in recruitment and long term strategy and the need for stability.

Spot on here!

It could obviously go the other way and there recruitment is spot on!
But there is no point crying and whinging about what other teams are doing when we genuinely dont know how it will work out! Either could get a Gbamin esq injury, could not fit how the team wants to play, or just something as simple as struggle with Premier League pace and physicality!
They could obviously set the world alite

Only thing we can control is what we do!

I still don't understand?

What is it you think Brands hasn't stood up for himself/made sufficient opposition to Moshiri over?

Allardyce was before Brands was here. Allardyce was the decision of the previous DoF, Steve Walsh.

Benitez? Why is your assumption that Moshiri wanted him and Brands didn't? He ticks every Brands box in terms of profile (Brands appointed Martin Jol/Ronald Koeman/Advocaat a few times) - Brands if on record repeatedly of talking up the benefit of experience in managers and Brands has publicly endorsed Benitez.

When we sign Ben Godfrey or Lucas Digne - who was that?

When we sign Fabian Delph or Josh King - who was that?

When we made daft bids for Zaha, and then sign Iwobi - who was that?

Do we pick and choose who we credit and who we blame? Or do we just accept that every transfer who comes in ultimately got Brands thumbs up?

It doesn’t really matter if you lay the blame at Moshiri or Brands’ door. The end result is the same. We are an absolute shambles.

I think it does matter.

Accountability is important.

This is why the club made this decision;

“Our approach now is to have a Director of Football with a broader remit, responsible for the whole footballing strategy at the Club, rather than just player recruitment. Marcel is now responsible, and accountable, for delivering the long-term, holistic, football strategy and principles, from Academy through to the first team. Marcel has now begun his work on delivering the cub’s long-term, permanent football strategy, working closely with the Academy Director (Joel Waldron) and Head of Football Strategy (Richard Battle).”

Prior to which, we spent a fortune and had this lineup managed by Sam Allardyce;

In my view, Marcel Brands hasn't improved Everton competitively since he's arrived. The next year or two should be crunch time for him - but to be fair, if he left tomorrow he would have at least left the club in better condition than when he arrived.
