Everton told to sell 10 players this summer to fund Rafael Benitez transfer spree

The former seems significantly more likely to happen though than the latter and I can certainly live with fawning RS articles , photos of every criminal in the NW and ‘21 reasons why it’s boss to be a scouser ‘.

I rarely look at the news page on the website, but they do seem to maximise and somewhat sensationalise coverage of anything that they can headline as violent crime.

I love the City, travelling there since the early 80s as a teenager for Everton matches, and never experienced anything criminal such as pickpocketing, mugging, assaul;ts...

There was some football nastiness from our beloved RS brethren. After the 0-5 at GP we were in the Midland waiting to get the bus to the B&I ferry, when about 7 oclock the cops came in, asked if we were the Dublin ESC, and said there was a gang of RS Orange NF going around looking for Irish Everton fans. We took their advice and went for the feeder bus at Lime Street.

Apart from that, I have gone there several times with my wife and daughter, both Blues, with no hassle. Now of course we fly, and stay in a hotel. In the old days the ESC drank until the bar closed on the boat at 01.30, slept on benches or on the floor, arrived in Liverpool at 07.30, shopped, drank, went to the 3 o clock K.O. match, then back on the same boat at 22.15, in bar until it closed, arriving in Dublin at 07.30 on Sunday!!

Great times, especially when we were the best team in Europe!

I know it’s only the red echo, but that title doesn’t fill me with confidence.

I can think of more than 10 players I’d like us to get shut of, but I can’t see many takers for most of them. So can‘t see it financing much of a “spree”.

So where is this spree coming from?

Delph : Which club in their right mind would take that gobby sicknote? The only way he’s going is if the club pays up his contract.

Tosun : Nobody will pay him what he’s on here, so any fee likely eaten up by us paying 2/3rds of his wages.

Iwobi : Ditto

Sigurdsen : Ditto

Gomes : Ditto

Bernard : Ditto

Keane : Would he go back to Burnley? They couldn’t pay him what he’s on & I doubt they’d pay more than £15m?

Coleman : ?

Davies : £10-15m to a promoted side maybe?

Holgate : Ditto. Maybe £20m?

James : It’s a shame, because fully fit he’s absolute class. But that’s not often enough & guessing he wants off now Ancelotti has gone. He‘ll go on his agent’s terms. Can’t see us getting a big fee?


I can’t see us shifting half of that lot. Have I missed anyone?

If any 3 of those go it will be a miracle - never mind All.

For the money we'd get for that lot (including Hammy Rodz who's contract with have accomodaded jumping ship whenever he feels like it), we'd probaby make more money off letting Richarlison go. Lets face it, he's just spent the last few months playing with awesome players in an awesome squad. Now he comes home to find Carlos replaced by a washed-up Spanish bollock and the players brought in last summer who were giving hope all looking for a way out. His agent wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't trying to get him a move somewhere less depressing.

Richarlison is a completely different subject. We have 10+ players who offer very little to nothing & are a waste of a wage.

We really need to clear the decks of these players. Free up wages in order to bring in quality to add to Richarlison, DCL, Digne, Allan, Godfrey & the few decent players we have.

Get rid and get Lenglet instead.
