Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Would take Mata in a heartbeat, but not for anything like what United paid for him, biggest problem we have though is any 'playmaker' - number 10 we bring in - then what the hell does it mean for Barkleys future at the team,
Means barkley needs to drop back to Cm role, learn to tackle and track back. Might be the making off him under the new manager.

Why are you obsessed with buying kids to develop, you were banging on about it under Martinez and now you're actually wanting to buy 3 unproven players who have had a handful of games. Yes they've had a few good games but still far from anything.

Get off this idea of building this youthful team that grows together, it's not happening. We need to buy top quality that have the experience and can handle it when things go a bit off track.

Get off the computer games, it's not real life
I don't think we should rubbish the idea of building a team around youth, but we should try to build a team that has youth and experience.

We have young players on the verge of the senior squad, we need to encourage them to push on.
It is something we as a Club should encourage

Not for 2 seasons. Baines dropped by england 12months ago and kenny/connolly both looked better than coleman.

Was just about to back you up on Mensah-Fosu ( who does look top quality) but then you dissed the Mighty Seamus.....sorry Zat, I withdraw my back-up

Yes, all teams have the blend but imo we have enough youth in the side, plus the younger sides looks quite handy that can be blended in when required. The idea to replace lukaku baines and Coleman with more kids is ridiculous.

I'd rather see someone coming into their prime filling these positions, not someone who is still learning their trade

Would it be fair to say if all 3 were to be replaced, we would replace one of them with a young potential and the other two with a level of experience

I guess you can see were I am going here....my big concern is we may lose a great line of young players we have in the wings

Not to mention that Rashford is VASTLY overated (go figure why eh?)

We sell someone like Luakku i hope to god we get in at least one striker who is 26-29 and has a bloody good track record - yeah taking a gamble with kids is ok, but even that United side which spawned the hansen quote had a core of absolute top level experienced players in it - otherwise they indeed would have won nothing with just kids...
I'd hope we sign 2 strikers to replace rom if we cannot bring in some amazing striker off the bat. Sign one good for 10 plus goals and sign another who us more the replacement, i.e younger and a massive potential. That way it gives us options and the experienced one can give us what the younger one can't.

Its all footy manager type stuff but for 65m a Lacazette/batsuyashi (sp) 30-35m type AND someone like Gamiero 15-20m could be bought and still give you a 10-20m bit extra to go elsewhere or take a punt on a younger lad less proven with huge upside

Told by the same City scout Everton and City now trying for a deal which involves Stones and Hart.

Pep doesn't fancy him according to this guy and not willing to sell to champions league team. Nor Man Utd.

Far fetched but who knows

I think the youth is there in the background, and they'll learn from experience. That's my view, if the fullbacks are sold, finished etc I'd look to replace them with quality rather than youth.

We need to set a marker to compete in the league, that's why I'm for experience. My concern is that if these youngster are as good as they look and we as a team are still fluttering around mid table then they'll want to move and compete at the top. If they know they will be part of a conveyor belt and will get their chance, if they're good enough, coupled with what they're learning from top pros I think it'll be more beneficial for everyone.

Aye it's all speculation right now. I mean look at the fella in la liga now 36 abd one of the top scorers after having an average career up until thst point. So saying anything now is just guess work lol

But most teams have more than one striker anyway and Kone is clearly not good enough so it wouldn't surprise me to see 2 come in, in the hope the new manager actually knows how to manage a football team.

I'd take him but I wouldn't want a direct swap, certainly want the deal weighted financially in our favour.

Doubt city would be after stones though, pep needs proven players in his first season, more likeley thst Chelsea and United chase him instead.
