EVERTON are considering a move for Morgan Schneiderlin, according to reports.

Schneiderin wasn't an automatic first-choice under Louis van Gaal last season.

Jose Mourinho is preparing to wield the axe and ditch some of the club's under-performing stars.

Juan Mata is on the list of players who are in danger of being shown the door by the Portuguese.
This is despite the new Red Devils boss recently texting all the senior members of his squad, reassuring them they will all get a fair crack at the whip.

And according to the Mirror on Sunday, new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman wants to bring Schneiderlin to Goodison Park.

It is thought Koeman has identified the midfield department as an area he needs to strengthen.

With James McCarthy and Tom Cleverley failing to prove their worth, Koeman is targeting some key signings.

It is suggested Koeman is prepared to pay £20million for the 26-year-old.

United spent £24m on Schneiderlin when they plucked him from Southampton last summer.

Koeman is no stranger to Schneiderlin, having previously managed him for a season at St Mary's.
