but strootman wouldn't surprise me at all as he fits the midfielder that Koeman has earmarked.

yeah mate can't complain at all really, seems to want the type of pressing / in your face midfielder that we kind of need. All of them seem to be 6 foot plus too so maybe he thinks our team lacks height, which would be fair enough.
More intrigued to see who we bring in as the goalkeeper now to be honest.

Everton fans are hoping this is the calm before they take the transfer window by storm.
New Blues boss Ronald Koeman has £100m burning a hole in his pocket but there have only been rumblings as to how he intends to spend it.
The window officially opens on Friday and many deals have already been lined up, but Everton are keeping their cards close to their chest and their powder dry.
For now.
At this stage last year, Roberto Martinez had already teed up deals for free agent Tom Cleverley and Gerard Deulofeu (who both officially joined on July 1) before securing the late transfers for Leandro Rodriguez and Ramiro Funes Mori as the deadline approached.

So how will Everton’s first summer under Koeman’s watch be like?
Will Blues see a steady procession of ins and out or a mad dash to line as the window shuts?
It took Koeman 22 days to make his first signing as Southampton boss in the summer of 2014 after he moved from Feyenoord to St Mary’s.
He’s been in charge of the Blues for 12.
The Dutchman joined the Saints on June 16 and sealed the transfer of Dusan Tadic from FC Twente on July 8.

A further seven senior signings were made - amid the backdrop of a mass exodus from the south coast - and just one of those after the season had started.
Graziano Pelle and Ryan Bertrand followed Tadic before August saw Koeman swoop for Fraser Forster, Shane Long and Florin Gardos.
Deadline day deals for Toby Alderweireld and Sadio Mane in September then completed his business.
Last summer, and with the Europa League bringing the start of Southampton’s season forward, Koeman moved quickly.
Deals for Juanmi, Cedric Soares and Maarten Stekelenburg were agreed in June before Cuco Martina, Jordy Clasie and Steven Caulker arrived in July after the loss of Nathaniel Clyne and Morgan Schneiderlin.
Oriol Romeu signed from Chelsea in August before the deadline day transfer of Virgil Van Dijk was finalised.
Koeman and his backroom staff are due back at Finch Farm a few days before Everton’s squad return for pre-season training on July 7.

Sorting out the futures of Romelu Lukaku and John Stones are at the top of the Dutchman’s to-do-list and their decisions will have a significant bearing on what business he does in the market.
But, still, it is accepted that Koeman needs to revamp Everton’s under-achieving squad with an injection of quality and targets have been discussed with majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright.
But the Everton boss has been keen to pick the brains of David Unsworth and Duncan Ferguson about the current members of the squad and wants to give the Academy players a chance to impress this summer.
Koeman is also keeping a close eye on the Euros although he and his backroom staff will already be fully aware of the talent on show in France - and who is available.
Everton’s pursuit of a director of football, and any subsequent changes to the club’s scouting set-up that could come with that, may also influence the speed with which the Blues complete their business this summer as they look to transform the squad into contenders for European qualification again.
At Southampton, Koeman joined a club with a well established sporting director model.
And so perhaps patience will be required during this summer of major change at Everton because the Blues are ripping it up and starting again.
The window opens on Friday and slams shut 61 days later.
It’s quiet now but the Blues are sure to be busy soon enough.
