Everton Transfer Thread 2016

...I didn't think he was a regular starter at Real. I suppose that means he's not one of the best at Madrid, never mind the world.

I definitely get your point but I wouldn't say not being a regular starter at RM is a fair stick to beat him with - how many players can be classed as some of the best in the world who didn't make it there for long?

Higuain, Robben, Sneijder, Ozil, Di Maria, Makelele, Kaka to name just some.

All of which are/have been truly among the best in the world.

Not only for his ability, as a statement as well as his stature in world football would announce us as a team ready to compete in the big time.

I don't think we have a chance of getting him, which makes me think how crazy people would be to question it if there was a chance ;)

@Connor hi, do you know who have we been linked with recently over the last few hours, can't seem to find anything in the press, getting a bit underwhelmed think our board is being a little slow compared to other clubs, but I am sure they have something in the pipeline lined up.

Only one I've seen is Sneijder, Turkish media pushing the done deal story, nothing from over here.

Was told Schindes (arsed spelling his name) earlier today but just a mate passing on anything he hears. One of them, my mates dog walker knows someone who knows someone who works at Finch Farm kind of thing. This is nowhere near ITK either.

Oh and Koeman wrote something about Sigurrdson for a paper that is banned on here so the Echo linked him.

Spot on, why I would love James but it is not set in stone that he would be able to hack it in this league, like he couldn't in spanish league.

Hasn't he scored the best part of 20 goals in 53 games or something for Real? Even though he's been playing in an unfavourable system and not been a starter in that system - a record not a million miles from Lukaku's for us (our only real goal threat in a system built around him).

take away the fact Geri is Everton and Mane is Liverpool and then make an informed choice. I think most would go for Mane. I keep hearing all the comparisons when someone is linked with us or goes to another club.....If our players were that awesome we would have finished higher than we did, irrespective of the managers failings. We have some good players but no real world class ones. Lukaku being the closest but still a lot to learn.

Mane is a good player, nothing more, and you don't pay £35m for just a good player.

Won't get Ter Stegen, I think Stones will go Sneijder a possible but he#s past his best, Strootman was good before his injury, not really seen much of him last year. Mata is class and Deulofeu still has a lot to learn. Couldn't see that line up winning the league TBH.
