This is what happens when @davek isn't around. He would have been a lightning conductor for a lot of this hysteria. Instead we have complete anarchy because the natural order in the post davek world has not been restored. The forum argued for three seasons pro or against Martinez, cult v plotters, now there's no obvious direction for a lot of the fume. People are confused, we need Dave back to tell us which sides we should be lining up on.

One thing that hasn't been clarified yet, is how much are we actually spending "cash" this transfer window.

We've all heard how the costs of a player is spread over the length of the contract. So a £50m player on a 4 year contract is only £12.5m this year and next 3 years same.

So are we spending £100m+ cash this window or £100m over the next 4 seasons?

I think personally we will spend £50-60m cash this transfer window as we do need to catch up with Spurs, RS etc in terms of world class talent.

Or am I misunderstanding something significant?
