For £7m, what's the worst that could happen? It's buttons in today's market. Stats wise he's superb, lets back the lad and give him every chance.

He played for a dog awful villa side, playing in midfield with dog turd players. Whats to say bringing him in with better players won't make him a better player? As somebody mentioned his stats last season are impressive, 2nd only to Kante on interceptions? Can't be that bad, 7.2m isn't a lot of money for a squad filler

If we are going to employ a Director of football then surely we should expect some signings like this? Talented players who are under the radar because they are under utilised, or coached, with their best years ahead. If they don't work then fine, we develop them then sell at a profit.

If this is real, it might not be the worst thing ever.

Never seen him play, but his stats are impressive against Kante, as well as defensively his passing stats are also good.

Can't say I've noticed him enough to form an opinion - but those stats suggest he's more than decent.

The price seems good, too.

Vardy technically came to the Championship from non-league, then to the Prem.

Arteta played for nothing teams before being one of our best players for years and he cost like a fiver. So did Pienaar.
