Everton Transfer Thread 2016

Won't be quite as simple as that.

Stones' book value won't be £3m for a start. That £3m (assuming it was a straight £3m) will be amortised over a period of time. I'd imagine that the amortisation period will be quite short given the risk (maybe a couple of years?).

Not sure what will happen to the sales proceeds but probably the present value of the transfer fee would be 'capitalised' and some of the gain will come through the income statement as interest.

Can't remember exactly off the top of my head.

What I'm saying is it's not going to be as simple as 'bought for X sold for y = z amount of profit.
Usually over the length of the contract.

It would in STTC terms as purchasing an asset and one you have to pay - takes away from that available non-broadcast revenues (which the sale represents).

Honestly. You guys need to stop thinking in purely accounting terms and think in regulatory compliance terms

That is a set of additional rules over and above accountancy rules.

Sorry. In UK accounting does revenue mean profit or does is just mean total income as it does where I am?

Because you're talking profit not revenue when you start accounting for expenditure.

Anyway, lets get this thread back on topic, here is GOATs current update on player trading :

Stones OFF
Lukaku ON

Mata ON
Williams ON
Martins Indi ON
Witsel WHO CARES
Carvalho OFF
Koubilay OFF
Bony OFF
Hart OFF

More news as I make it up.

Yes we know.

I think, in this specific SSTC rule, it is specifically about a trading profit on player sales that can be somehow banjaxed to mean we can pay footballers a lot more money.

I think.

I took maths tons of times at O Level and CSE, in old money.

Best I got was Grade 3 CSE. Which is basically, Yeovil level.

Reckon things will pick up soon. Please.

Fancy loaning as a grand mate, will pay you back in three installments of 213 pound, which if you do the math will give you a profit of 73 quid...

Ya I'm asking because I have seen @bizzaro talk about revenue in terms of profit before with STCC and I know accounting terms differ by region where the codes are written.

I will open the premier league handbook and take a look.

We've got a crap side that looks like it's going to lose its two leading lights this week.if that happens Big Ron is gonna earn every penny of that ridiculous salary.
