Everton Transfer Thread 2016

....lots in this morning's papers about West Ham trying to gazump Everton with a last gasp bid for Sam Byram.

Contrasting views on Naismith to Swansea with some saying its on but the South Wales Evening Post suggesting it's unlikely.

Another link with David Ospina the Arsenal goalie.

Unless Mirallas is sold I doubt Yarmolenko will be coming this window. We spent around £15 million net in the summer, assuming the Naismith sale will wipe out the money spent on Byram and the Swiss kid, I doubt we will have £21 million to spend on a wide player.

Are you still living in 2004 mate?

And remember kids....

We're not looking to make any changes to the squad in January because there's very little value in the market

Naismith is going to be our Borini, bet we can't get rid of him as no doubt he won't want to join a side threatened with relegation which rules out both Norwich and Swansea.

Bild reporting Dortmund interested in Yarmolenko again...12m + Adrian Ramos

Can basically wrap up your chips with that offer then, player exchanges almost never happen, plus offering them as the equivalent of 9-10m quid part of the deal being a 30 year old striker (in a few days) just seems like a no goer, also from memory Ramos turned down a few mid table premiership sides interests last summer - can hardly see him jumping at the chance of playing in Kiev.

Any time i see a part ex story i chuckle though :)

So far i am very impressed with martinez's transfer window. 3 young players to come into the first team squad for the long term and all signed for less than what we are selling naismith for. Even if only one of them turns out to be good its still fantastic business.

I wonder that this will be the defining point of Martinez, even if we didn't sign a top player this window, or even the summer, but in 2-3 years time you can look back and see these young signings and see exactly the positive direction we were moving in? If our defence was 4 englishmen all nurtured by the club, have players who have massively improved for low transfer fees and a squad who have plenty of years together ahead of them.

Throw in a board running the club professionally and we might look to be a in a good position!

Tbh, even though he's not exactly flourished at Dortmund, Ramos is the type of player I think we should look at as a 'back-up' forward. Quick, a great finisher...

Only thing is he's, like you said, 30, and turned down interest before to stay at Dortmund. Perhaps a bit Kone-ish as well...

He would join a side threatened with relegation as they are the only ones offering him first-team football (that we know of).

I still think he'll leave this window, just think it'll be late on.
