It hasn't been a good summer for ITKs.

What 'figure of speech' am I miss-understanding?

No 'promises' have been made, or broken, yet people keep saying 'we were promised Koulibaly, we were promised Mata...' etc etc. It's utter nonsense.

We were promised that we would fight to hold on to our best players not set a price and then sell them even though the team didn't match that price.

Not 100% mate, just seem to remember reading about it and my brother mentioned it in a call, good luck to him hope he can get a deal with them and play a bit like, one of my favourite players over the past 10 years
