Everton Transfer Thread 2016

I imagine Koeman will resign if the board fail to back him in the next few days. He must be bitterly disappointed at the broken promises. Looks like we're still shopping in Netto after all.

I do find it mad that we have a negative net spend with two days to go. Especially being told we are loaded and can compete with the best

I honestly thought he would bring in a marquee signing, break our transfer record and have a major over haul but it appears the Koeman reign is actually similar to most summers where our net spend is actually pretty low and we sell one key player to aid is bringing in a few.
Even the players we are now linked for are well under the quality from the likes of Witsel, Adrien, Carvalho and Mata.
I not massively underwhelmed just a touch disappointed.
Why is Net spend important ?
I really struggle with this argument .
What we want in a window is Net Improvement in Squad.
Anyone who cannot see that this window already has done that had their head in a bucket .
Yep I get it with the Marquee signing .
I also firmly believe that it was and still is the clubs intention to bring one in. But this is a crazy market and we don't have CL as a carrot so that's a blow I can take until 2 years into "the project " when I hope the Marquees will be queuing at the door .

Scratching my head at some of the comments here .... You know the ones ... What's happening when are we buying somebody
Cast your minds back a season or two ...... If you could read that long ago :)
For years it's been last minute deal for an Unknown on the last day of the window ... A player who often never made the first team anyway but was brought in so BK and R E could be seen to be "active" in the window ...
.. Or shrewd plucky Everton make a few smart loan deals ... On the last day .....
This year already is probably the best window in living memory in terms of NET IMPROVEMENT IN SQUAD not net spend
stek in Williams in Gana in bolsssie in
When did we last bring IN that much talent that walked onto the first team that wasn't a loan job
I fact even in Terms of net spend this is an amazing window in terms of improving the squad
I firmly believe this window still has a surprise or two in it for us BUT it's already been great
Ffs calm down
I think, in your heart of hearts, you, like most of us, hoped that we would be picking up some real superstars this summer. That's not to say that the players we've picked up are terrible, they're not, they're fine. But to say that this window has been markedly different to previous windows is not quite true. As other people have said selling one of our "big names" and then using that cash to buy in some decent players is the definition of business as usual and that is why many if us are a bit down because we were promised that nothing would ever be the same. Who knows though, two days to go, maybe we'll pull something amazing out of the bag?

i wonder how much movement could happen.

these three days could turn already GREAT business into AMAZING business

very happy so far, Williams and Idrissa have been blinders.

cant help but feel we all want 30m plus signing. to cap it off, but in saying that, what does that buy these days...

I'm sure some people think a simple transfer deal is about as as easy as buying a six pack at Bargain Booze and a difficult deal is equivalent to buying something on E Bay,
Still, it provides great amusement and keeps football forums going the length and breadth of the country.

Can I raise it to another level and suggest some targets should be forced to sign for us?
