(i) Possible, but I would be confident we could compete financially with those aforementioned teams and their promises of minutes. I think those could've been pushed over the line personally but each to their own.

(ii) If Mr Koeman is unhappy to go with Lukaku and Kone then something should have been done earlier on in the summer. They will have had a feel after the Mata/Witsel/Koulibaly/Carvalho deals that, as confirmed by Jim White Blink the window was going to be a bizarre one and the players he really wanted probably weren't going to come off.

So true, genuinely believed we would be buying top names this year but I think what I've learnt is money isn't everything. Players just don't want to come to us

The reason the likes of Carvalho didn't come to us is because they weren't taken in by the 100m warchest blag. They knew that we would be carrying on in the exact same way as we have done before, and that's what has happened.

No your probably right but it's just so disappointing we are in this situation, I honestly think there's more to this window than we know, because it was clear from day two or three that Koeman didn't want niasse and I'm sure there's a deal done for him to leave.. The focus on net spend misses the fact that we got those two for under £20m. Way under their true value imo.
