Everton Transfer Thread 2016

This.

Yarmolenko is genuine class and, in terms of age, is at the peak of his career. If he moves from his current CL club, it's going to be to another CL club, and it's going to be a big one or a money one. As in Bayern, PSG, Barca, Madrid, Man U types. If he is free to pick and choose whether or not he enters into negotiations, then he isn't going to Stoke ffs. Any chance we have is very slim and would partially rely on a lack of other clubs coming in for him.

In summary, not holding my breath for what would be an absolutely brilliant transfer for us.

Only 3 clubs made serious enquiries/offers this window though.

What makes you think he wouldnt want to go to either of them?
Agreed, I'm sure the clubs would have a feel from his agent on whether he would be open to moving to those clubs, before talking to Kiev.

Will be interesting if we go back for him in summer, asumming we sign Niasse.

Money shouldn't be issue given money we had when we tried in summer, Nais money and extra TV money, and it being released in July this year. Would just be whether we still want him and if we do, who else wants him.

Us, Arsenal and Dortmund. Dortmund walked away until the summer.
Ah, ok. Without wanting to sound rude, is that your speculation or has there been confirmation by the clubs concerned that those bids have been made?

Call me pessimistic, but Yarmolenko isn't going to choose us over Arsenal. They can offer CL football and higher wages. Dortmund probably couldn't match the wages offered in the prem, but they are a CL club.

If we want him we'd have to bid a transfer fee high enough to make other teams withdraw, imho.

For anyone who has a real idea how the transfer world works, I'm curious about something. How often are actual bids made in a transfer window by any team? Like, do bids happen frequently, but we just don't hear about them until it's close to an actual deal? Or does a bid only happen once a club really feels like they have a good chance of signing a player?

I'm curious if Everton have had other bids this window that we'll never hear about.

Lets say confirmation from my source.

Hearing whispers of a punt on Andre Gray from Burnley.

He'd be worth every penny of £12m.

Have seen him a lot and he'd be like a modern day Jimmy Greaves.
