that was my point, if we had won the league cup long before this terrible run of form happened then martinez would still be safe in his job because he won the trophy. No trophy = no reason to keep him now.

He's not going to be short of suitors - that low relegation clause will add a few quid to his contract. It's almost a Bosman in this day and age.
