With every day that passes without any real significant signings makes you wonder if all the bravado and chest beating by our new regime may have been a bit of over enthusiasm and reality maybe somewhere in between our previous regime and the promises made at the takeover.

Very interesting 6 weeks ahead and I'm sure will let us know our true aspirations and directions.

No, this would not be acceptable. If we are only bringing in four players there would be no need to sell Stones to satisfy the STCC measures.

I wouldn't really be happy with us only spending 90m and keeping Stones to be honest, especially considering what 90m gets you in the current market.

If Utd sign Pogba tho, less chance of getting in there team. And they will want to make some of that £100m back somehow

Mourinho doesn't rate Mata, he will leave just don't know if to us or this transfer window but he will leave

Looking at that boro have done some great business. Negredo valdes and fischer are good buys for them to stay up this season.fischer alone will be a great winger in the future.

dead mate, deal is dead. he'd be out of the squad if that was the case

These signing types need to be made even if we are trying to get big names in at the same time

Surely we've been down this route before with signings like Henen, Gueye and perhaps Tarashaj?

Lets see what happens when the season starts, Matas playing now, but will he play when Zlatan joins the squad and they sign Pogba?

Plus Jose will defo sign somebody else.

we have no strikers in our squad today. if that goes for mata, niasse would be in our squad. gutted, but there we go. don't want to talk about this anymore.

Not exactly.

Jose is a clever man. If any players don't impress him now then a suitable offer and he will get rid. Remember they will need to recuperate costs to some extent and if mata looks like he can't cut it (not for the first time) then they can start recuperating sizable chunks back through sales.

Remember the only reason they are sinning pogba for so much is because they can cut the net cost right down again. Mata young schwiensteiger and one or two others will bring a decent amount of money back.

So mata isn't off the table until he starts in the team when the season kicks off
