Well i think people would have posted that about chris smalling if he was still at united. But they wouldnt be now after he left them and blossomed in italy.
I`m sure the likes of Vardy or Mane would look at Big Mick Kegger and Mr Potato Head Jones and think, " No chance of me doing them for pace " lol
Ps : drinking in the morning is generally a bad thing.
I'd take a chance on phil jones. Gets a lot of stick but so did chris smalling and he's done brilliant in italy. Still think thete is a decent no nonsense bread and butter centre half there. Better than mina imo.
I always thought surgeons were supposed to have lots of patience?Do something Everton..
If Maitland-Niles is really available for 20mill we should be all over him. With Efc also having to watch big spending buying one who can play full back and centre midfield easily he would be a great asset.
Is Jones still playing and how old is he? Always reckoned his athleticism was his greatest asset, which of course is time limited!
Going by some of the responses on here I seem to have the right people on ignoreIve only looked at the last two pages of this thread and Im debating drowning my sorrows already. This post might just tip me over the edge.
Crazy he's still that young. He must have been starting for Blackburn when he was about 9 then!
Was 19 when United signed him I think.
Would have put money on him being 4 years older... Still I'll wait for Carlos stamp of approval!
Alec Cleland, Carl Tiler and Richard Dunne were not bad players at all, certainly not in the Earl Barret category. Barret always looked like that 1 fella you have played footy with, who likes joining in, but knows he is useless, and always panics when the ball goes near him. And he looked like he was running in slow motion. Apparently, he is 1 of the nicest fellas to ever play the game, and a great professional. But he was bad. Ryan Giggs said he was the toughest RB he'd ever played against, but I think we signed a different Earl Barret if that was the case. To put it into perspective, before we signed him, Matt Jackson was a regular boo boy. Seeing Barret play in the league (he was cup-tied when he joined) instantly turned Jackson into a world beater. He was brilliant in that cup run.
I'll concede on Mitch Ward. He tried hard, but just wasn't up to it. And Hottinger wasn't much better.
Right back has been a problem position for us for years before Coleman. Steve Watson is probably the best before him. Maybe Hibbert or Neville when he wasn't ruining the midfield. Jon O'connor looked a prospect but as usual, injuries took their toll.
All part of the Everton curse i guess.
Weird i always rated Barret, Joe had a good eye for a player. I always think our fans are quite harsh on him.
