Doucoure is underwhelming IMO. Other than run around a lot, what does he offer? His control is poor. Passing isn't great. Not much of a goal threat. He's better than what we have, but I'm struggling to get excited by his arrival (assuming he does come).

In all fairness a transfer of around 25m we can't really lose out on. He won't be a top earner like Sigurdsson and we'll always be able to offload him if it doesn't work out. I think it'd be a great deal!

It’s really important that he’s on Premier League wages, not Champions League wages.

His stock can’t be that high after last season.

£70k pw max for me, if he becomes a key player give him a pay rise and if it doesn’t work out there’ll be plenty of takers at those wages.

I think Doucoure is a waist of money, he plays at a Watford team that’s build around him and still not a player to catch the eye. He’s also got a couple of years before getting worse so I would buy him.

He's 27 mate, if we brought him in a 4 year contract we'd have him throughout what should be his best years.

He made 6 goal contributions (4 goals, 2 assists) in 37 games last season which by his standards was a poor showing, yet this is double that of Davies, Schneiderlin, Gomes, Gbamin, Delph and Iwobi combined in a total of 121 games.

We've needed a good box-to-box mid for a while now and he ticks a lot of boxes.

How so?

Defence: is balanced, defensively solid with pace across the back 4. All players able to carry and pass the ball.

Midfield: Solid anchor allowing Gomes and Gordon to combine. Two weak links being Gomes defensively and Walcott (who is our only option).

Forwards: As usual.





Mina is deceptive. He looks gangly but delivers.

Its a very defensive minded side with a huge gap from midfield to the forwards.

Absolutely no strength and no bite whatsoever

I saw that the Sun has Koeman buying Richarlison as one of his first buys.

Kinda makes sense for Barca and Koeman.

And maybe for EFC too.

There was an interesting debate here on GOT recently about the role of LFC's transfer policy in getting to the top
and how selling Suarez among others turned out well. LFC trusted Klopp to buy well and he did building
up the team's strength in all positions.

If EFC can get a shed-load of money from Barca that will help with FPP and will allow the manager to plan.

Getting to the top will take time and lots of money especially as the club does not have a bunch of exciting
youngsters ready to step up. If Koeman pays over the odds for a player the smart move might be to take that money. .

Given how bad was our cm, we definitely need 2 new cm ideally.
