Trust me to drop my usual scepticism. Despite my best efforts I got swept up with the feeding frenzy over the transfer targets.

I can totally understand the time we take to negotiate a price etc, but then Everton still seems to be so slow in actually get stuff confirmed, all the stuff in-between which should be trivial.

If you look at the Chelsea signings they've done, United with van Beek the other day.

It's literally, news breaks that a fee has been agreed and the player is on the move for his medical. In a matter of hours the medical is done and it's announced they've signed.


Where as with Everton unless it's happening on deadline day, seemingly negotiate a fee, personal terms ... wait 7 days, arrange a medical, for at least 7 days time, oh the agent wants extra money and the player wants something extra because they've been given more time to think about something, 2 days later that's agreed, the medical actually happens, 2 days later after everything is sorted it's confirmed they're signing.

Or like Fer, Manny Fernandes, Gabriel etc. etc. the player suddenly has no kneecaps to speak of or they turn around and fly back home.
