We are going to magic up a 20 goal a season striker.
And stones is a better defender than anything we have apparently.

So basically, people still talking tosh.

Yet apparently 12th place Everton is too good for him...

Ok let's analyse this:
- Stones is not good enough for City.
- Chelsea interest was just a rumour.
- He doesn't get selected for England and made massive errors which is a consistent feature of his game.

If out aspirations are to truly win the league one day or break top 4, you can't employ players that aren't the finished article - it's that simple. Were not aiming to finish 12th are we. We are aiming to get top 6/4 and having a defender like Stones will just take us away from that objective.

He's a ball playing CB but his defending is poor.

Stones on loan as cover/rotate with Holgate is more than good enough.

Unless you genuinely think we are gonna be loaning Koulibaly or Van Dijk.

I would levy the same arguement at you about you thinking we are going to sign a 20 goal + striker as DCL getting 13 isnt good enough for you. We can't sign the very top players guaranteed of performing at the highest level, so we have ones in the next group down, which DCL was this season.

On Monday it will either be talk of relegation or Champions League, nothing in the middle.

Stones is a long, long, long way down the list headed ‘Premier League Quality Centre Backs’ and there are many, many , many players ahead of him and a fair number of them can actually defend.

Its a completely different argument in fairness - indications are we are looking to loan a CB not buy one ergo most players available on loan outside of a small few will likely be not top quality or just young with potential.

We aint linked with a CF I just feel we need one to truly complete.

You can throw DCL scoring 13 goals at me all you like - the previous 2 seasons before that he scored less than 10 so statistically speaking the chances of repeating 13+ are lower than the chances of him continuing it.

You cant accuse the likes of Danny Ings of having a purple patch season then tell me you're confident of DCL continuing to score goals - especially when DCL finished the season 10 games without a goal.
