Everton Transfer Thread - Summer 2020

i find the media narrative interesting. James and Bale's situations very similar but when we sign Rodriguez his ability and mentality is questioned. Bale on the other hand, who's essentially sat on his super rich contract and just played golf is being hailed as a great bit of business from Spurs.

James is less of a gamble for me. He’s younger, doesn’t rely on pace and has made it clear he just wants to play.

We have our ‘Galactico’ in the squad, don’t think there’s room for another lol

Per Talksport

Former Arsenal stars Theo Walcott and Alex Iwobi could be axed by Everton, with Gylfi Sigurdsson’s future also in doubt, as the club plan a late summer fire sale.

The Toffees are reportedly willing to consider offers for ‘an entire team of players’ as they look to earn back some cash after their summer spending spree.

The Merseyside club has spent £60million so far this summer on the arrivals of midfielders James Rodriguez, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

And Carlo Ancelotti is not finished yet, with the veteran manager keen to bolster his back-four with the signing of Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori.

But, according to The Times, the emphasis at Goodison Park right now is on selling players, which may include ex-Arsenal duo Walcott and Iwobi.

The futures of Sigurdsson, Fabian Delph, Bernard and Cenk Tosun, are also uncertain, while Yannick Bolasie, Muhamed Besic and Sandro Ramirez are surplus to requirements.

Seems just to be relaying the reports from the Times etc. Doesn’t surprise me we’re concentrating on outs now. If we get a few out the door then can see a late move for a winger. I’m sceptical but if we do recoup some money then maybe a late move for Zaha wouldn’t be out of the question if he’s still at Palace by then.

Whole Bale to Spurs thing seems a bit made up, Spurs have had a bad week and there trying to put a positive spin, just don’t see the it happening, his wages are high and isn’t he in his 30s?

No doubting Bales ability but i question any player that would rather play golf, troll Real fans and sit on the bench picking his unreal wage rather than go play somewhere and that's what he's done. Fair enough he nearly moved last year but that was for a mega money move to China. Maybe returning to Spurs will get him back to his best but i think it's a massive risk. Especially when you consider Jose doesn't deal with stubborn superstars well. Watching the doc on Amazon the thing i get is that Daniel (David Brent) Levy loves a superstar. He looks at Jose like i wish my wife would look at me and i imagine the idea of Bale returning and the positive media from Sky etc would generate would proper appeal to him.
